About
Stephanie L. Rogers was born in Rochester, Minnesota and grew up in Chillicothe, Missouri. She earned a B.A. in Studio Art from St. Olaf College and currently lives and works in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She spends time in Longville, Minnesota whenever possible.
Rogers' images address issues of impermanence and the fragility of life, inspired by the Japanese concept of mono no aware and the Western tradition of memento mori. The time-based nature of photographic mediums is integral to her work. Rogers touches on universal concerns using the specific features of the Midwestern garden, field, forest and urban landscapes around her. |
